ASSIX Awarded Resurfacing & Retaining Wall Project in Sheffield

 

ASSIX have been appointed to complete works to replace a retaining wall and provide a new soft surface access road for the University of Sheffield.

ASSIX will be delivering this complex re-roofing project to remove and replace over 720m2 of roof coverings in a carefully phased process while the building remains operational.

The key work items include:

  • Providing alternative pedestrian access via scaffold walkway.

  • Removal of existing sandstone retaining wall.

  • Construction of new block/concrete retaining wall structure and foundation.

  • Cleaning of existing sandstone and re-bedding of stonework to the new retaining wall.

  • Re-conditioning of coping stones and reinstallation.

  • Raking out existing mortar and repointing.

  • Removal and preparation for new road surfacing.

  • Installation of rubber-modified tarmac coloured surface and associated kerbs.
